Enhancing Agro-Technical Education at Kazakh University through Curriculum Development

Kazakh Agro-Technical University is undergoing significant enhancements in its curricula for Agro-Ecology and Agro-Technology programs. With input from 12 organizations and scientific institutes, new competencies have been established. Updated courses for BSc, MSc, and PhD levels have been approved, focusing on modern agricultural practices, plant protection, and sustainable agriculture. Internal mobility initiatives, including a new language laboratory, have been introduced to foster academic exchange. National accreditation is targeted for November 2014, ensuring high educational standards.

  2. State of art • Questionnaires for employers (MofA, 12 organizations, non-government organizations, scientific institute) • Prepared competences • Update curricula (Agro-ecology BSc, agro-technology BSc,MSc,PhD) • Internal mobility with KGU, InEU Language laboratory

Agro-Technology • New curricula was approved by June, 2013 • 30 bachelor students, 10 master degree students, 2 PhD students • Planning academic mobility for master degree students • Request to national accreditation BSc, MSc and PhD • Update subjectsMSc degree: Pedagogy, theoretical foundations of high yields of crops, field trials method, modern system of farming, future feed and field crops in RK • New subjects: Theoretical Foundations of Modern Seed and seed crops, demonstration of compliance with crop production, modern plant protection products, agro-biological basics in sustainable agriculture, patenting and intellectual property protection
