  5. WAYS TO INSPIRE • CARE • BE ENTHUSIASTIC • EARN TRUST • BE POSITIVE • BUILD PEOPLE UP • ADMIT YOUR FLAWS • BE AN ACTIVE LISTENER • REACH FOR THE STARS!

  6. Habits of inspired people • Learning the success habits of inspired people is not hard; it is just a matter of practicing being who you aspire to be. It’s much easier to turn the alarm off than to get up and go, but the person you want to be is already back from a run and making breakfast! • So what habits make up the go-getters, the movers and shakers, and the early birds that are out there catching the worm before you? • We can learn how to be motivated, disciplined, and inspiring to others.

  7. HABITS OF INPSIRED PEOPLE • 1 – SET SMART GOALS FOR YOURSELF • 2 – KNOW YOURSELF • 3 – CELEBRATE SUCCESS • 4 – RID YOURSELF OF TOXINS

  8. SET SMART GOALS FOR YOURSELF A goal that is non-specific can set you up for failure. How will you know if you’ve achieved your goal unless you give it some details? That is what SMART goals are meant to do. A SMART goal is: Specific – It spells out what exactly you want to achieve Measurable – You or someone else will know if you’ve gotten there because you can measure it Attainable -You know that it is within the realm of possibility to do this Relevant – It is important to you now and it will still be important to you in the future Time-bound – There is a deadline when you want to achieve this goal by So an example of a non-specific goal might be, ‘I want to save money to go on a holiday?’ A SMART goal would be ‘I want to save £400 by March 1st 2019 for a holiday to Ireland.’

  9. IN school we use smart goals every day! • Can you think of any ways we use SMART goals in school?

  10. IN school we use smart goals every day! • Learning Intentions/Success Criteria of lessons • Homework tasks to help consolidate learning • Our Merit & Positive Behaviour system • Parental reports

  11. 2. KNOW YOURSELF • When you know your own likes and dislikes, you can help yourself to be successful. For example, if you know that you won’t exercise unless you do it in the morning, make sure you get to exercise in the morning. • Avoid your known pitfalls, know what excites you and use that information to get yourself going. • Say ‘When I achieve this goal I will be able to ____.’

  12. At caldervale we want to get to know you! • Pupil Support teachers – Someone you can go to if you need help • Personal Support teachers – A teacher you will see every week (Tuesday P5) • Depute Head Teachers – House Heads who oversee everything and deal with any discipline matters • Class Teachers – Subject specialists who will devise lessons designed to spark interest and develop your knowledge, skills, understanding, creativity, observation, evaluation skills and more!

  13. 3. CELEBRATE success • If your goal is to be on time with all of your homework, then an inspired person doesn’t store it all up until it is all due at the same time! • What you could do instead would be to do homework as soon as you are given it. Give yourself little rewards to encourage this – For example : “Once I have completed this task, I will watch YouTube/Netflix/NowTV!”

  14. At caldervale we regularly celebrate success! • Can you think of any ways we celebrate success at Caldervale?

  15. At caldervale we regularly celebrate success! • Praise in classes • Merits • Reward Events • Awards Ceremonies • Posts on Twitter/school website • Info at House Assemblies

  16. 4. Rid yourself of toxins • In order to be the very best version of you, you need to cut out the things in life that are holding you back from achieving your goals • Ask yourself “What is holding me back?” • This could be a simple thought, like “I am not clever enough to do that” or even a friendship which negatively affects the choices you make • YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! • Be more aware of negatives and try to avoid them!

  17. BE INSPIRED! BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF
