  2. The user experience of Windows continues to develop and is becoming much easier to test as well as submit applications to Windows Store. Windows latest version Windows 8.1 is packed with amazing features opening new doors for creating faster, richer and better Windows Store apps. Windows 8 has transformed the approach of working with Windows. It has introduced novel ways to interact with the Operating System. The modern UI style app in Windows 8.1 is a total break with the precedent for Windows users. This latest version is equipped with countless new features while its existing features have undergone an upgradation for supporting enhanced user experience. 5 Reasons Why Windows 8.1 is a Treat for The Developers • The move towards Windows 8.1 has revolutionized the way in which technology giant Microsoft does business. This new version also identified as Windows Blue is much more than merely a service pack which every new release from Microsoft generally comprises of. There is huge expectation from Windows 8.1. Below are 5 key reasons why this latest version is a treat for the developers. • With Windows 8.1 it will become easier in connecting with and supporting any USB and IO device. • It has an attractive new feature that makes it hassle-free for money in changing hands including a magnetic card reader which smoothly work with store cards, bank cards and barcode scanners too. Windows 8.1 also offers increased security and management for Smart card usage. • It allows developers in rendering PDF documents • It supports both GATT Bluetooth and RfComm Bluetooth protocol unlike its earlier version which did not allow interaction with any external Bluetooth • device. • Windows 8.1 provides improvements in networking and media features

  3. Windows 8.1 XAML features- What’s new? Windows 8.1 comes with a plethora of new XAML features. Some of these include: • Hub App- This new application is a cut-out for applications akin to Windows 8 Bing News reader application. It has a Big Hero image opening page and smaller data sections when one scrolls right to left. This portion can be drilled down further. With the UI Composition upgrade, the problem of rendering thumbnails and in its place getting a screen scrolling in black while scrolling horizontally for fastening the system is now resolved. • Swap Chain Panel- This XAML feature in Windows 8.1 will allow one in putting DirectX interop anywhere in their control hierarchy thereby helping them in leveraging it more flexibly and giving them the flexibility of mixing and matching DirectX with the ease of the XAML unlike in the earlier version which was utilized for DirectX in XAML elements having the serious constraint that it required being the Root element. • Command Bar- Next come the App Bar. Despite the existing AppBar control being easily usable, Microsoft decided to improve upon it for the XAML developers to have a better experience. Keeping this in mind, Microsoft has introduced CommandBar and other AppBarButton controls in this version. These new buttons are in the shape of circles rather than rectangles and comes with Icon and Label properties rather than Content property. These buttons has IsCompact property that enables one in dropping the labels when it is not required. Thus when utilized hand in hand with the latest CommandBar control, can help to automatically omit these labels when Windows detects the application width justifying it. • Search Box- With Windows 8.1 the Search option is no longer restrained only to Search Charm unlike Windows 8. Again, Bing and Search as a platform need an individual post of their own. • Date and Time Picker- Microsoft has finally internationalized both Date Picker and Time Picker controls fully in XAML.

  4. With the enhanced XAML support, application developers will be highly benefited as they can experience more legroom for designing applications which would function in the operating system of Windows 8. This along with taking the Windows Application Store to a higher level will also make users spoiled for choice.
