Phase 1 Objectives • Verify QSE’s ability to use Web Service interfaces to submit, modify, cancel, and retrieve three part offers, COP, output schedules, and Inc/Dec Offers (DSR only) • Verify QSEs understanding of SCED input validation rules • Use both the User Interface and Web Services interfaces for SCED inputs http://nodal.ercot.com 3

  7. SCED Phase 1 Timeline • QSE’s with Resources must Register by 8/8/07 for a Testing Window • Testing windows available between August 24th and October 4th • Use of EWS and the MMS UI will be demonstrated during the testing window http://nodal.ercot.com 7

SCED Testing Phase 1 • QSE with Resources will sign up for a seven day testing window in the EDS environment • This will initiate a number of events that will occur before the testing window (detailed on slide 13) • The testing window begins with a two hour support call with online SME support from ERCOT • Goal is to provide immediate assistance to resolve issues • After the support call, QSEs with resources can execute additional scenarios they have “defined” • Support calls will be reserved in the order requests are submitted • Taking an earlier testing window enables more time for re-testing should it be needed • MPs that sign up for the first week of October will not have a 7 day testing window and almost no time to correct issues http://nodal.ercot.com 9

Support Calls • Support Calls will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday • Support calls occur twice daily: 9am – 11am and 1pm – 3 pm • Monday and Friday are reserved for issue correction, follow-up calls, and market wide status calls • Calendar is Posted on the Readiness Center • 37 slots are available on the following dates: http://nodal.ercot.com 10

Sign-up Email Content The sign-up Email from QSEs with Resources should include: • Primary Contact Name • Primary Contact Email and Telephone • Support Window Date and AM or PM preference • Provide top three preferred dates • DUNS number of QSEs & sub-QSEs that have resources associated with them • Confirm that the server used to conduct SCED testing resides in the same data center where production will be hosted: Yes/No • Confirm that you the QSE will be engaged in testing and not your 3rd Party Service Provider: Yes/No • Send sign-up email to eds3@ercot.com by August 8th http://nodal.ercot.com 12

Digital Certificates • 1 digital certificate with a generic employee name has been generated for each QSE and sub-QSE with Resources. • The MP’s USA does not need to take any action • This is the only certificate that will work in the EDS environment • This certificate will also work in the Nodal Sandbox environment • It will not work in production, MOTE, or any other ERCOT environment • Distribution will occur after the QSE signs up for a SCED Phase 1 Testing Window • Once the Nodal Market Participant Identity Management System is operational, these generic EDS certificates will be revoked. • All valid ERCOT issued digital certificates will continue to work in the Nodal Sandbox. http://nodal.ercot.com 19

Issue Management • Issues encountered on the Support Call will have a high priority • Issues encountered during the remainder of the Test Window should be reported via the form (http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/eds3/documents/genkd/ERCOT%20EDS%20Issue%20Submission%20Form.xls) and submitted to eds3@ERCOT.com • Internal testing will occur in parallel with EDS 3 Phase 1 • MP issues will be logged when submitted • MP submitted issues will be compared to internal defects after internal testing is completed • When completing the Issue form, provide the files used and the sequence of file submission (per slide #9 “defined”) http://nodal.ercot.com 20

EDS 3 SCED Phase 2 • TPTF Approved the “EDS3 Release 5 – SCED Testing Establishing Generating Resource Offer Curves v1.0” document • This meets the ERCOT Nodal Transition Plan section 5.4.1 (1) requirement • QSEs with Resources need to read this document and provide ERCOT (via eds3@ERCOT.com) with the completed spreadsheet • Due date is August 10th http://nodal.ercot.com 21
