  3. Admin-Defined Columns in Status Dialogs • Administrator can permanently remove columns from dialogs • Administrator can re-order columns in dialogs • Administrator can add new columns in dialogs, provided that they are in the same database table

  4. Example • New column added to outage status dialog • Displayed in Column Setup dialog, as well as status dialog

  5. Crew Assignment Counts on Outage Status • Summary at bottom of outage status shows • Number of outages assigned to trouble shooters • Number of outages assigned to line crews

  6. New Colors in Outage Status Dialog • Red – new • Yellow – looked at – operator has looked at the detail display. • Green – assigned to a crew • White – troubleman completed • Blue – outage is assigned to multiple crews

  7. Query AMS Meters from Outage Status • Allow operator to query two-way AMR system for an outage

  8. Query AMR For Outage • List shows every affected customer • Every customer meter that is AMR enabled is pinged • Energization Status shown in list • Meters can be located

  9. Outage Status – Additional Functions • Estimated Trouble shooter complete time • Estimated line crew complete time • Set Area of Responsibility

  10. Outage Status – Additional Columns • Utility requested – flag • Curtailment – if outage due to curtailment or load shed

  11. Outage Status - Planned/Unplanned • Outage status list shows whether outage is planned or unplanned

  12. New OMI Windows • Launch AOR Coverage Window • Launch AMS Status Window • Launch netCADOPS

  13. AOR Monitoring • New dialog to display which operators are logged into which AORs • Detection of a gap in AOR coverage, transfer of control • Handshake process to accept AOR transfer • Maintain log of gaps in AOR coverage, and coverage transfers • Periodic checking for gaps in AOR coverage • Acceptance of transfer request • Audible alert on receipt of transfer request

  14. AOR Coverage Window • Shows which operator is logged into which AOR

  15. Detection of a gap in AOR coverage • System is monitored periodically to see if there is a gap in AOR coverage • Time window allows short gaps in AOR coverage • Monitoring period configurable by system administrator

  16. AOR Monitoring - Transfer of control • When gap in AOR coverage found: • System pops up a notification window • Transfers the missing AORs to a currently logged in operator • Audible alarm to notifies the operator

  17. Handshake Process to Accept AOR Transfer • Operator selected to take over coverage must acknowledge • If operator does not accept or does not respond within a configurable time period • Transfer request will be sent to next suitable operator • May be necessary to transfer to multiple operators if AOR is split between them

  18. AOR Monitoring - Logging • Logs gaps in AOR coverage to a database table • Logs transfers to a database table

  19. AMR Parameters Window • Display current AMR parameters for each AOR • Edit AMR Parameters

  20. AMR Parameter Editing Window • Control maximum number of AMR calls to receive by AOR • Disable receipt of AMR calls for an AOR • Add comments explaining actions performed

  21. Scheduled Switching Colors • User-Defined colors highlight when scheduled switching about to start • Two colors for different time periods: • Short threshold (e.g. 5 minutes) • Long threshold (e.g. 60 minutes)

  22. Scheduled Switching Filters • Status -Jobs list can be filtered by scheduled start time • Filter window minutes set by user preference

  23. Assign Device to a Job • Equipment (device) can be assigned to a job by clicking in Ormap • Automatically assigns a sub-area to the Job • Needed for template filter in advanced switching module

  24. Filter Presets in Jobs - Status • Filter Jobs by AOR • AOR set when Job is assigned to equipment (device)

  25. Switching Plan Enhancements • Total kVA and customers affected shows in step editor when step is instructed or executed

  26. User Roles – Versions Prior to Release 4 • Prior authority used one of five operation modes to grant login and functional authority per sub area • Operation modes were hierarchical and the user was assigned the highest mode he was authorized to use • Disadvantage: Unable to define users who can have the highest functional authority but not have the intermediate functions

  27. User Roles – Release 4 • Now authority uses a combination of user roles and an unlimited number of operation modes to grant login and functional authority • Operation modes are NOT hierarchical but independent levels used to configure authority for different roles • Administrator needs to determine a grouping of functionality first and then assign the appropriate number of opmodes

  28. Examples of User Roles • Admin • Perform admin functions in Ormap • Cannot perform supervisory control • Cannot assign crews • Cannot update outages • Operator • Open/close fuses • Cannot open/close switches • Grid Management • Open/close switches • Run load flow

  29. Roles and Operation Modes • Role can comprise any mix of operation mode levels • Number of operation mode levels is unlimited • Operation mode can now be defined per device type

  30. Example of Operation Modes and Roles

  31. Operators, Roles and Sub Areas • An operator may only have one role in a sub area • An operator may have different roles in different sub areas Martin North Southwest Southeast Admin Operator Grid Mgmt Cary Raleigh Grid Mgmt Admin

  32. Support for Operation Mode In OMI • Some OMI functions controlled by operation mode • Current functions that can be controlled: • Update of outages in OMI detail dialog, by device category • Crew assignment, by device category

  33. Ormap Filtering • Consolidation of toggles • New options

  34. Consolidate Toggle Buttons on Filter • Toggle buttons have been removed from User Prefs tabs and consolidated on Filter window • Previously on Autoschematic User Prefs tab • Normal Closed Switches • Normal Closed Fuses • Removed from Declutter User Prefs tab

  35. Ormap Line Type Filters • Filter by line type: • Overhead/underground • Number of phases

  36. Added Toggle Non Protective Devices • Toggle display of devices that are not protective • Uncheck Non Protective Devices box to hide non protective devices • Check Non Protective Devices box to show non protective devices

  37. Ormap Toggle Landbase Layers • User can toggle all display of all landbase • User can toggle display of individual landbase layers • Three optional display methods for each layer • Using zoom declutter setting • Toggle on • Toggle off

  38. Ormap Toggle Landbase Display • Select filter icon on main tool bar • Check Landbase box to show landbase based on settings • Uncheck Landbase box to not show any landbase

  39. Ormap Toggle Landbase Layers • Check Landbase box to show landbase based on settings • Select By Scale (User Prefs) radio button • Select desired layer • Landbase layer will display based landbase layer declutter settings defined on LandbaseUser Pref tab

  43. Little Known Fact • Two methods for setting annotation decluttering • Declutter based on zoom level setting assigned to annotation • Declutter based on symbol size declutter settings (small, medium, large) • This option can be set differently for geographic and schematic

  44. Declutter Based on Symbol Size • Check the box Use different settings at different scales • Choose Geographic or Schematic • Choose symbol scale where annotation declutters (small, medium, large, tiny) • Symbol scale declutter level is set on Declutter user preference tab

  45. New Toggle Annotation Groups • User sets annotations in one of ten toggle groups • Toggle annotation and Zoom annotations are mutually exclusive – only one method can be used at a time • User can turn on/off Toggle annotations • Selecting toggle group turns on all annotations in group • Multiple groups can be selected • Toggle annotations show regardless of zoom level

  46. Initializing a Toggle Group • Select Set on the Toggle annotations tool bar • Brings up Toggle Annotations user preferences tab
