  1. For immediate release Group exercise classes are about to get much more personal The new Polar Club Flow for Club app shows the benefits of heart rate training to groups and individuals Kempele, Finland – 24 July, 2014 – Polar, the world's top manufacturer of training systems and advanced sports technology, has today launched a new service that provides a major breakthrough in the way fitness classes are run. Polar Flow for Club is an iPad app specifically designed for clubs, their instructors and club members. During group workouts, anyone wearing a Polar H7 sensor can see their live heart rates on screen, together with the heart rate zone they are in. The instructor can then guide individual group participants in a way that has previously been impossible. Class members can learn how important it is to train at different heart rate intensities in order to achieve their training goals. For club owners, one of the key benefits of the system is that it is easy to show members how much progress they are making. This is a key component of ensuring high retention rates. With a single app, owners can schedule classes, assign instructors, manage sensors and allow members to view their training data. As the entire system works on an iPad it is also extremely mobile, so it can be used in any part of the fitness club. Fitness instructors will benefit from an efficient tool to guide people better. The class sign-up and sign-in works smoothly. With real-time feedback on the intensity of their classes, they have a chance to help individual club members as well as guiding the group as a whole. The group workouts are also saved to the Polar Flow online training community, where participants can have a closer look at what they have accomplished and how they are

These are also compatible with a number of fitness apps and gym equipment in addition to the Polar Flow for Club app. They can increase the demand for Polar heart rate monitors and other services that clubs can sell at their facilities. "One of the biggest challenges many fitness clubs are struggling with today is how to retain their existing customers, get new ones and keep their business thriving", says Mari Lukkarinen, Product Manager of Club Solutions and Physical Education at Polar. "We wanted to help them to make their club a place that people want to be part of and come back to. Running a successful club is so much more than just attracting new customers: It's also about motivating your instructors and making sure your existing members are happy and want to stay loyal to you and your club. Polar Flow for Club addresses exactly these needs." The free beta version of Polar Flow for Club is available starting from July 2014. Once the commercial version is available, the clubs can continue to use the service for a monthly fee.
