ELEMENT OF THE DAY • 18 – Argon – Ar • Argon is the cheapest of the noble gases, and is almost completely unreactive. It is colorless normally, but glows sky blue when current is run through it. • Argon, mixed with nitrogen, is used in light bulbs to keep the filament from catching on fire.
