Now we’re ready for the game! With 30 seconds left in the warm-up the coaches should have given their lineups to the Referee. He/She will then give it to you to record on the score sheet.
U O R 10 3 2 12 1 8 4 The Line-up card looks similar to this: Note: The Roman Numerals tell you the positions. Often, the Roman Numerals are not there. If not, #1 is always in the bottom right hand corner and then proceed counterclockwise. If you know the libero number you can add it on your score sheet, but not necessary.
Start with the bottom right and gocounter clockwise on the rotation card. U O R 3 2 12 1 8 4 x 18 30 U O R U O C x 8 12 2 3 4 1 Also, check to ensure that all numbers are recorded in the team roster box before writing numbers in the rotation box

Let’s keep score! x x x 5 6 3 6 It continues like this for the remainder of the set. In the event of the wrong player going to the service zone you are to let the player commit the serving fault - then notify the Referee of the service error immediately.
Substitutions Smile, especially when a coach likes to activate many subs during the set.

The referee blows his/her whistle. Check the roster to see that #5 is eligible to play.
Player Eligibility Check to see that #5 is listed here. If so, raise one hand to signal that he/she is eligible to enter. If not, communicate this to the official.
Substitution! x 18 30 U O R U O C x 2 6 1 5 7 4 8 12 2 3 4 1 5 Once complete raise both hands (palms facing out) to signal that you are done and ready to go on. 15 18 x 5 6 3 6 7 9 10 12 8 9 10 11 12 14 18 16 17 13 14 The referee will say, “#4 is replaced by #5. Time Out Thumbs up to a coach for time outs, as it lets you take a deep breath.
Time out! The coach from Team A requests and is granted a Time out. Team A has 23 points, Team B has 22. x 18 30 U O R U O C x 2 6 1 5 7 4 8 12 2 3 4 1 5 15 18 20 23 x 5 6 3 6 7 9 10 12 8 9 10 14 16 17 18 23 11 12 13 14 19 23 22 You mark the score under the “T” beginning with the score of the team that called the Time Out

Set 3 - Deciding Set For the first 8 points of the set only look at the left part of the sheet exactly as you had in previous sets. Remember: Use Set 5 on the scoresheet if needing to play the 3rd set for deciding win (for club – youth).
