  2. One of the most important aspects in getting a job Job interviews are one of the most important aspects in getting a job. If you say the wrong thing, it gives the employer an excuse to reject you, considering there are so many other candidates who are competing for your position. That is why there are many things you should not say in a job interview, including:

  3. ‘I hate my other job’ or ‘my current boss is awful’ – employers may conclude that you will eventually think negatively about the current job offer you are aiming for. • Asking for the the salary level or pay rate in your first interview. Salary and pay negotiation is better to be discussed at a later stage. You don’t want to come across as too commercially oriented and the focus is on financial reward. • ‘I need to do something on my phone’ – do not use your mobile phone at all during a job interview. Turn it off.

  4. ‘I am not experienced, but I am able to learn quickly’ – this gives the employer an excuse to reject you. • ‘Check my resume it is all there’ – the employer wants to see how you can communicate a certain aspect of your resume. • ‘I need to go somewhere so we need to wrap this up’ or ‘I need to go I have something on’ – make time for this job interview these opportunities are hard to get. • Swearing in general will not reflect well for an employer.

  5. ‘I don’t think the company is well suited to me’ or ‘I do not like the operations of this company’ – be open-minded and evaluate the pros and cons after the interview. Never tell the employer this job offer is not for you. • ‘I have no questions’ – employers want you to ask questions it shows you are interested. • ‘I hate interviews’ or ‘I fell so awkward’ – employers love it when they see that a candidate has confidence.
