General Facts About Paul C’ezanne • Born in Aix-en Provence, France on January 19, 1839. • When Paul was 22 his father gave him money to move to Paris to become a painter. • Paul’s most famous paintings were landscapes and still lifes. • Paul painted landscapes because they reminded him of his home.

  3. More Facts About C’ezanne • Paul had two younger sisters named Mary and Rose. • When Paul was a child he played with his best friend Emile Zola. Emile was his neighbor. • When Paul was 28 he got two paintings shown in the first art exhibit in Paris.

Paul’s father always wanted him to be a lawyer, but when he died it allowed Paul to pursue his dream. • Paul was a famous impressionist. • Emile Zola wrote a book about an unsuccessful artist. Paul thought it was about him. This ended their friendship.

Why I Like Paul C’ezanne • I like Paul C’ezanne because he painted with bright water colors and did the best landscapes you could ever see. • I loved the different materials he used like the canvases and water colors. • I liked that he painted landscapes because it reminded him of home. Like the painting Mont Sainte Victoriewhich was the mountain in his home town. He painted that mountain at least ten times.
