Why? • They provide evidence of learning and accomplishment • They organize your accomplishments in one place • They remind you that you’ve done some meaningful things • They make it easier to demonstrate work progress • They are an imperative when you are in the job market

What’s the advantage of an electronic portfolio over a traditional version? • e-Portfolios: • Allow you to include digital media- images, video, audio, source code, etc. • Free you from the limitations of traditional paper media • Allow you to tell a richer story • Easy to customize for different audiences; different views for different clients • Sets you ‘somewhat’ apart from others

  8. More and more institutions are encouraging- or even requiring- students to create electronic portfolios to highlight their academic work and help them reflect on their campus experiences. Many administrators say that e-portfolios will be the next big thing in campus computing.
