  2. Is It A Sin To Go To Court? 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 I. CONDEMNS INJUSTICE a. Brethren against brethren (6:1, 5, 6). b. “An utter loss” (6:7; Rom. 11:22 sin). c. Better receive wrong (6:7; cp. 1 Pet. 2:18-21). d. Than to do wrong (6:8; cp. 1 Pet. 2:22-23). II. TURN THE OTHER CHEEK? (Mt. 5:38-42) a. Context – those abusing others (Mt. 5:38). b. Not designed to forbid seeking justice (cp. John 18:23; Acts 25:11)

  3. Is It A Sin To Go To Court? CONCLUSION: a. It is better to receive wrong, than do wrong. b. God expects us to resolve our own differences justly. c. If you do go to court, do not abuse it or others (1 Cor. 6:9-11)! “And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Cor. 6:11). (Acts 22:16; Jn 17:17; Acts 13:38-39; Acts 19:5)
