  1. Creating an Animal Requisitionin eAnimal Ordering(For Non-LAR animals)

  2. Enter CSU Login EID and Password URL to use: https://csu.keyusa.net/

  3. eProtocol Investigator homepage Please note that this is eProtocol and not eAnimal Ordering. If you try to enter your protocol from here you will not be able to requisition animals

  4. Hover mouse on “eAnimal Ordering” then move down to “Investigator”. Click on “Investigator” or “Investigator Home”. -They take you to the same place Do NOT click on “List of Protocol(s)” – this only lets you look at your protocols, not actually do anything with them.

  5. Select the correct protocol that the animal census needs to be counted against.

  6. *Important* If you have not verified your funding on this specific protocol please check that now. Click the “Funding Details” tab

  7. From here you can check to see if there is an available fund number are associated with the protocol. Note: for non-LAR census requests, anything works as long as there is something in the funding details. If not click on the “Add” button and fill out the popup to enter your funding information. To return to the “requisition process” click on the “Approved Species” tab

  8. Please not that the ONLY two formats that are acceptable are for funding numbers are: “5312345” <- Numbers only or “5312345a2c4e” <- Number only with a five alphanumeric subaccount Do not use “*” or “#” or “-” or “spaces” or any words. Failure to input the proper format for fund number may prevent billing in a timely manner or the wrong account to be billed. *Note: This is only important for an animal order if to be charged by LAR for a service, not for census only animals.*

  9. Select the check box for the correct species to be ordered and then click “Create Requisition”.

  10. Select the “RP” (Responsible Person; formerly known as “Contact Person”) from the dropdown menu and ensure that there is a phone number and e-mail address available. Click on the blue animal name to be taken to the “Requisitioned Species Details” screen.

  11. Input the necessary information to ensure that the exact animals required, are correctly ordered. Please only input “optional” information if it is required for proper differentiation. Otherwise, order lead time and/or cost may delay the order. There are eight required fields needed at a minimum to requisition any animals. USDA Pain/Distress Category, Request Now (number of animals), Number of Cages, Date Required By, Source, Preferred Vendor, Housing Location, Building/Room No.:

  12. Note: DO NOT select “Pregnant” or “Sentinel”. If you need to indicate that the animals are to be used for this, please indicate in the description text box below.

  13. In the pop-up window check which funds/account(s) will be used to fund the Purchase or the Per Diem, then assign the percentage in which to charge the account/fund. First click on the icon and assign the fund/accounts for both the Animal Purchase and the Per Diem Note: The Purchase and Per Diem are two separate assignments and will be input separately.

  14. After entering all the required and optional information, double check all fields and click the “OK” button.

  15. Either click “Save” (to be submitted later) or “Submit to ARC” Note: Saving will allow the requisition to be altered later. An investigator must make a request in writing to LAR for a change to be made after submitting a requisition

  16. Note: If you only see “submit for approval”, and do not see “submit to LAR”. You will need to have the Protocol PI request an amendment to RICRO to have your roll changed from “other personnel” to “other submitter” or something similar. Otherwise, the PI will need to approve the requisition and click “submit to ARC”.

  17. Saved requisition to be submitted later. Submitted requisition.
