FY13 Budget – advancing the strategic plan supporting growth-related needs in academic affairs, enrollment mgmt, and IT • adding 103 new course sections (graduate and undergraduate) • adding 8 graduate TA positions in CLA, CSM, and CNHS • creating a new academic advisor position, expanded subject-specific tutoring • hiring a coordinator to support international students and adding tutors in classes with large # of ESL students • deploying software to improve communications with prospective students

FY13 Budget – advancing the strategic plan improving graduation rates and student success • hiring 5 additional professional advisors (in addition to 3 hired last year) • expanding new student welcome receptions • adding a position focused on course planning • adding a position focused on internships. part-time position in CLA to support internship efforts • adding -time basketball coach and expanding intra-mural athletic

FY13 Budget – advancing the strategic plan developing an infrastructure to support the strategic goals • engaging a consulting firm to benchmark opportunities for efficiencies • staffing (employee or consultant) to support faculty in applying for research funding • funding for phase one of the new OneCard system implementation • enhancing the Bayside lot to enhance safety and access • adding an Associate Dean in Graduate Admissions to expand recruitment and marketing activities

  9. FY13 Budget – advancing the strategic plan supporting the capital master plan • continuing to add to a reserve to ease debt service payments in future years ($2.0 million per year) • operating the new Integrated Science Complex (ISC) beginning in spring 2013 (maintenance and utility costs)

FY13 Budget - process in the next week• moving new strategic funds into the departments where the money will be spent (funds for new positions will be posted when the position is filled)• making reductions in the departments and account codes (subsidiary)• updating financial accounting system (PeopleSoft, FAST) with base budgets• turning on control
