Collection 5 Forward Processing • Collection 5 (C5) forward processing started on data day January 1, 2007 • On average the leading edge has been within 2 data days of real time • The Gross Primary Productivity processing is 5 months behind the leading edge for Terra and 17 months for Aqua due to a change in the late look Montana data • Both Aqua and Terra are expected to be caught up to the leading edge by late-June, 2008

  3. Collection 5 Reprocessing • Terra reprocessing started on September 3, 2006 and Aqua started on May 4, 2007 • The C5 reprocessing was completed ahead of the original schedule on May 13 with the exception of Land Surface Temperature (PGE 16), and the final 8+ day PGEs for 2006 • LST requires an additional 32 days of processing through day 32/2007 and this should be completed by May 17, 2008 • The final 8+ day PGEs will be completed by May 19, 2008

  4. “Cleanup” Tasks (1 of 2) • Some cleanup tasks remain and MODAPS will use 3 production machines to complete these by July 3, 2008: • The L2G lites for Terra 2004 were inadvertently not exported to the LP DAAC. These are being re-reprocessed and will be completed by July 3, 2008 • MODHDFSR (PGE80) needs to be re-reprocessed for Terra for the interval 2000/274 – 2001/184. These were deleted erroneously. • This reprocessing will be completed by July 3, 2008 • MODHDFSR products are now archived in LAADS for access by the land science team

  5. “Cleanup” Tasks (2 of 2) • Cleanup tasks to be completed by July 3 (cont): • There are an additional 64 days of LST to reprocess due to splitting the production between machines. • This will be completed by June 12, 2008 • We have received a request to reprocess 3 16-day periods for the Terra 16-day Vegetation Composite (PGE72) from Mark Carroll • This will be completed by June 2, 2008 • There are likely to be additional periods • 153 days of CERES L1B subset data will be reprocessed due to premature deletion at the Langley DAAC • This will be completed by June 15, 2008
