  2. Intensive Rotational Grazing Plan • Selling 1 Steer beforehand in order to have an equal number of animal units to forage productivity. • Electric single strand fencing for Beef Cows, calves and Steers. • Electric fencing for horses • Electric netting fence for Ewes and Lambs • Numbers in Pasture drawings indicate where the animals should be moved to, during the days of the rotation. Example: Day 1 of the rotations animals should be in pasture labeled 1.

  3. Excess spring growth will be hayed. • To accommodate for summer slump, Lambs will be sold in July. • The Horses and the Sheep will be pastured together. • The Beef Cows with Calves and Steers will be placed into half the 5 acre pasture.

  4. Spring to Mid-Summer Rotation.

  5. 12 Acre Pasture 10 Beef Cows with Calves4 Steers Planted with Orchardgrass, White Clover & Kentucky Blue Grass. Divided into 24, ½ acre pastures. 26 day rotation. 2 days are in the Winter Lot.

  6. 5 Acre pasture 20 Ewes with Lambs Planted with Orchardgrass, White Clover, Kentucky Blue Grass & Timothy. Divided into 20, ¼ acre pastures. 24 day rotation. 4 days in Winter Lot.

  7. 2 Acre Winter Lot Winter Lot, Summer Plan • Planted with Perennial Rye for spring early summer. • Planted with Sudan Grass for mid to late summer. • 2, ½ acre pastures for Beef Cows with Calves & Steers • 4, ¼ acre pastures for Ewes with Lambs.

  8. 3 Acre 4 Draft Horses 2 Light Horses • Planted with Smooth Brome and Alsike Clover • Divided into 6, ½ acre pastures. • Part of 12 day rotation with BMG pasture.

  9. 3 Acre, BMG Pasture 4 Draft Horses 2 Lights Horses Clear cut to remove Brush, milkweed and goldenrod. Planted with Little Bluestem, Birdsfoot trefoil, Red Top Grass. Divided into 6, ½ acre pastures. Part of 12 day rotation with 3 acre pasture.

  10. Mid-Late Summer Rotation

  11. 12 Acre Pasture 10 Beef Cows with Calves4 Steers Planted with Orchardgrass, White Clover & Kentucky Blue Grass. Divided into 24, ½ acre pastures. 33 day rotation. 4 days are in the Winter Lot and 5 days in 5 acre pasture.

  12. 5 Acre pasture 20 Ewes 4 Draft Horse 2 Light Horses 20 Beef Cows with Calves 4 Steers Planted with Orchardgrass, White Clover, Kentucky Blue Grass & Timothy. Divided into 10, ½ acre pastures. 5, ½ acres for Beef Cows with Calves and Steers 5 ½ acres for Horses and Ewes

  13. 2 Acre Winter Lot Winter Lot, Summer Plan • Planted with Perennial Rye for spring early summer. • Planted with Sudan Grass for mid to late summer. • 4, ½ acre pasture for Beef Cow with Calves and Steers. • Part of the 33 day rotation

  15. 3 Acre, BMG Pasture 4 Draft Horses 2 Lights Horses 20 Ewes Clear cut to remove Brush, milkweed and goldenrod. Planted with Little Bluestem, Birdsfoot trefoil, Red Top Grass. Divided into 6, ½ acre pastures. Part of 17 day rotation with 3 acre pasture, and half 5 acre pasture.
