  1. A greatchoice……. Biomass Energy! By: BarbaraAbedrabbo and Bernarda Muñoz.

  2. Index!

  3. What can of energy is it?Its renewable or non renewable? • Biomass energy is Chemical energy because it uses chemicals such as charcoal to have biomass energy. • This type of energy is renewable, this means you can use it again. • Biomass is a type of energy that comes from the death of living organisms that contain solar energy stored inside by the process of photosynthesis.

  4. How is biomass used today? • By this days biomass is used for producing heat and fuel for the factories and industries all around the world.

  5. History… • Biomass was created when people start burning a lot of biomass to get fire and heat. • This was the most important kind of energy until the use of coal grew. • In the last 200 years people had found and develop many new ways of how to use biomass energy. • One of the oldest fuels of biomass energy is charcoal, charcoal is the remaining of wood that was burn with no oxygen. • This type of biomass energy was used for melt cooper and tin on the Egyptian world.

  6. Where is found and how it is recover? • Biomass energy is found mostly in the woods. • Biomass can be recover from landfills by burning to produce electricity.

  7. How biomass is stored in the source and how the energy is released? • Biomass is stored in source by being solar energy of death animals of plats that by photosynthesis had energy stored in it. • Then biomass energy is released by burning the plants or animals by being heat, just like people that heat up their homes with wood are using biomass energy.

  8. BENEFITS OF BIOMASS ENERGY • Firstly biomass helps by generating electricity that covers countries problems and issues with lack of electricity. • Secondly biomass is also really helpful for society and the economy of the diverse countries of the world because it generated well played jobs that help in the economy. • Also biomass energy plants support local industry and businesses and encourage new investment in the communities. • Also biomass makes easier the increase of local taxes without requiring substantial services from the community today. • Biomass plants produce far less particulate matter than the alternative method of open burning wood wastes.

  9. NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF BIOMASS ENERGY • Like all type of energies they all have a negative and a positive environmental impact and risks. • The main impact or damage that biomass causes is sustainability of resource use in this case air quality and also carbon emissions. • The production of biomass energy involves annual harvests of crops, residues, trees or other resources from the land and soil this means it damages the environments by getting nutrients from soil and the quality of air. • But cutting trees is not the only way biomass gets energy there are other ways that don’t involve nature.

  10. What is the economic impact? • The economic impact for the poor people is good because by burning biomass that can get heat for their homes and the don’t have to spend a lot f money in it. • The impact for the Government is good because on the future biomass marketing price will increase and the country will not be in a economic crisis. • The impact for our environment is negative because by burning this type of energy our are realizing air pollution to our environment and this affects our ozone.

  11. Fun facts!! • Using biomass reduces the quantity of organic material on lands. • You can get biomass by the process of photosynthesis. • Biomass produce a lot of CO2 for our world.
