Aerospace StudiesAll Cadets AF Leadership Laboratory- 1x week, 1 credit hour • Every Semester: LLAB • A progression of experiences designed to develop leadership ability; military customs and courtesies, drill and ceremonies, military professional development, the life and work of a junior officer; leadership skills in a practical, supervised military lab setting.
Aerospace StudiesAll Cadets AF Physical Training- 2-3x week • Every Semester (Part of LLAB Credit) • Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) • 1min Push-ups, 1min Sit-ups, 1.5 Mile run • Link to Male Standards • Link to Female Standards Click for More Infromation
Aerospace StudiesFreshman & Sophomores (GMC) Air Force Class – 1x week, 1 credit hour • Year 1: Foundations of the U.S. Air Force (AS100/AS250) • A Basic Introduction • Uniforms, Rank Structure, Major Commands • Leadership theory and practice, team building, diversity in the work force • Year 2: Evolution of USAF Air and Space Power (AS200/AS250) • History • Origins and the Development of Air Power
Aerospace StudiesJuniors & Seniors (POC) Air Force Class – 3x week, 3 credit hour • Year 3: Leadership Studies (AS300) • Team Building, Motivation, Power & Influence, Followership, Ethics, Counseling & Supervision • Year 4: National Security & Prep for Active Duty (AS400) • Regional Studies, Military Strategy, UCMJ
Field Training In between AS200 & AS300 year, each cadet must attend a 28 day Field Training • Maxwell AFB, AL & Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center (CSJFTC) • To get selected: • Need an Enrollment Allocation • Selected by AFROTC HQ
Scholarships Type 1: Pays Unlimited Tuition Type 2: up to $18,000 Type 7: up to $9,000 • Plus Annual Book Money • Plus Monthly Allowance (Stipend) • GMC: $250 for Freshman, $300 for Sophomore • POC: $350 for Juniors, $400 for Seniors • University of Iowa Tuition Statistics (22 Apr 13) • In-State: $8,057 • Out-of-State: $26,279
