Funny, but not true • Stupid • Pointless • Annoying • Messages • That’s not what it stands for, officially at least. But an official definition made the 1998 publication of the Oxford Dictionary.
How much does it cost? According to Wikipedia.org: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_email In 2004, lost productivity costs in the U.S. are over $21 Billion annually. The IT cost of dealing with spam rose from $20.5 billion in 2003 to $198 billion in 2007.
How much SPAM? According to: http://www.spamunit.com/spam-statistics/ Just under 100 billion spam messages are sent worldwide every day (as of 06/2007) “Bill Gates allegedly receives 4 million pieces of spam a day, or 0.004% of the total spam worldwide.”
