To be considered for nomination, a picture book must meet the following criteria: • be published within the last 3 years • still be in print • the book's author and illustrator must be from the US • not be a title previously nominated • possess strong child appeal • have artistic quality with text that supports the illustrations

  13. The Cow loves Cookiesby: Karma Wilson Horsey eats hay, the chickens love their feed, the dog loves doggie treats BUT the cow loves cookies! Why???

  14. Guykuby: Bob Raczka A book of haiku poems about things boys do in different seasons.

  15. Hibernation Stationby: Michelle Meadows A variety of animals have problems settling into the hibernation train for the winter.

  16. In the Wildby: David Elliott Wild animals from around the world are featured in these poems.

  17. Interrupting Chickenby: David Ezra Stein Poor Papa can’t read little red chicken a bedtime story without being interrupted.

  18. Memoirs of a Goldfishby: Devin Scillian A goldfish complains about how crowded his bowl has gotten, but does he really mind?

  19. Oneby: Kathryn Otoshi When One stands up to a bully will the other colors help him?

  20. Rubia and the three Ososby: Susan Middleton Elya After Rubia goes into the Osos house without permission, can she makes things right?

  21. Ugly Pieby: Lisa Wheeler Bear is hungry for pie… but not just any pie will do… it has to be UGLY pie!

  22. The author and illustrator of the winning book will receive a crystal award created by Pepi Herrmann Crystal.
