Analysing Locker Room Bully by Destroy Boys Rachel jones
Band name is displayed in the centre of the screen – clear who is singing, make people aware of them Empty street – maybe too calm – false sense of security Font quite gothic suggests the band also are
From the empty street the band are running away from a group of people chasing them They look scared suggesting that they often get attacked verbally or physically Costumes are victorian gothic suggesting that they are quite old schooland eccentric
One of the band members is running away from a girl who looks like she is miming shouting at her which suggests that the band often get shouted at possibly for being different
One of the band members in now hiding from the people chasing them in a room with a red light which connotes anger and danger She looks exhausted like they’ve been running away for a long time
She then gets violently dragged away and is reaching out franticly This looks like it could be taken from a horror movie which might suggest the band like horror films or they could feel like victims The hand held shot put s the audience in the scene and makes them feel empathy for this character
There is then a two shot of two of the hunters tying up one of the band members This could suggest that the band felt trapped by other people when they werent doing music
Those close up shot of the hands tied emphasises the emotion of feeling trapped It also suggests that there is no way out
The band members then get violently thrown down on a platform This suggests that they get oushed around a lot and let people walk allover of them but they want to change that
As the band are thrown down we see that there is a circle of people around them This could inmply that they feel like the don’t fit in with everyone and everyone sees that almost like they’re on display
The people surrounding them then begin to throw rocks at them like they did to witches This implies that the band member feel attacked by society and other people
The band then use witch powers to get the surrounding people to check their phones The fact that the band are witches suggests that they feel different from everyone else and they get attacked for that Also by them using powers it makes audience that are feeling attacted feel they they also have the power to stand up up and defend themselves
After checking the text messages the people begin to attack each other This suggests that Destroy Boys have noticed that the people who bully or are ‘popular’ actually don’t like each other and wouold easily turn on eachother Furthermore the fast paced editing along with the fast paced music increases the action and violent effect
The band members then help eachother esacape This shows the audience that they all care about eachother and stick together This could also imply to the audience that by following the band and supporting them they will also support you
