  17. CAS – Golden Gate Park Field Guide The Golden Gate Park Field Guide is a go-to guide for navigating San Francisco's thousand-acre urban oasis. The app highlights the park's common wildlife, popular attractions, and hidden gems, courtesy of the California Academy of Sciences. In addition to an ever-growing guide to plant and animal species, it also includes a detailed map, helpful insights, and fun tours and activities to help jump start your explorations. Finally, with the help of the Sightings feature, it invites you to actively engage with the park and to share your experiences with other park goers and naturalists.

  24. Vijay Kumar Vijay Kumar - Dean for Education in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. In his lab at Penn, Vijay Kumar and his team build flying quadrotors, small, agile robots that swarm, sense each other, and form ad hoc teams -- for construction, surveying disasters and far more. At the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) Lab, at the University of Pennsylvania, flying quadrotor robots move together in eerie formation, tightening themselves into perfect battalions, even filling in the gap when one of their own drops out. You might have seen viral videos of the quads zipping around the netting-draped GRASP Lab (they juggle! they fly through a hula hoop!). Vijay Kumar headed this lab from 1998-2004. He continues his work in robotics, blending computer science and mechanical engineering to create the next generation of robotic wonders.

  25. Augmented Reality in Social Networks Today AR is dependent on GPS/GIS information. Currently GPS/GIS applications are driven by Internet Data Access capability. Limitation of Data Access Services (infrastructure) at places where its inaccessible or infeasible.

  26. Social Networks? Social Networks are for people to share, contribute and engage socially. There is a strong case for the ‘developing world’ to adopt and drive solutions around AR that keep it independent of GPS/GIS & underlying Internet access. A platform which is not influenced by underlying factors like • Internet Access • Additional Hardware Cost (GPS) • Bluetooth, Wifi & NFC (change agents)

  27. What is ahead of the curve? The social/mobile application networks of the future will be driven by mobile devices with intelligence and capability to be: • Decentralized • Local • Anonymous • Explorer (Identifying & Mapping) • Self Discovery (from ‘location aware’ to ‘self aware’) • Context – Context - Context

  28. IdeaFlight WHAT'S IDEA FLIGHT?Idea Flight enables one person, the Pilot, to use their iPad to control content to an audience, their Passengers, or other iPads via W-Fi or Bluetooth. Preparing materials for Idea Flight is simple: Content must be saved as a PDF and can easily be accessed through Dropbox, iTunes File Sharing, or email. Then invite your Passengers to come on board directly from the app. Idea Flight includes a Passenger List allowing Passengers and Pilots to connect via LinkedIn and Facebook. Use the Passenger List as a virtual cheat sheet and add attendees to your network while your gathering is underway.
