  2. Introduction Roald Dahl • He was born in 1916 in Wales. • He began writing after the 2 World War. • He died in 1990 at the age of 74. • In this picture he was 25.

  3. Setting • The book doesn’t actually tell you where it is set, but it is near a school, and it says that Matilda goes to the next village to get to the library.

  4. Plot • Matilda is an exceptional girl, but her parents think she is just a nuisance. When one day she is attacked by her odious headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, Matilda suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to avenge herself!

  5. Main characters • Matilda – 5 ½ year old genius. • Miss Honey – Her teacher. • Miss Trunchbull – Her evil Headmistress. • Family – Terrible people.

  6. My Favorite extract • My favourite part of the book is probably in Chapter 3, when Matilda puts super glue all around the rim of the father’s best hat and it gets stuck on his head!!! He can’t get it off! • I will now read it to you… (Extract)

  7. Recommendation I would recommend this book to any one between the age of 9 – 13.
