  2. - Reflect on your best and worst teachers you ever had - Whether or not students love or dread the class is determined mostly by the teacher - The teacher’s mood sets the weather in the classroom each day - To motivate and inspire students, the teacher must be motivated and inspired first - Effective teachers are enthusiastic and highly motivated—this is what students most respond to - Approach is everything! You choose your attitude every day and students take cues from you “in the classrooms of the very best teachers, the excitement is contagious” Part 1 How to Make Your Excitement Their Excitement

  3. - In the minds of the students with the most effective teachers, they are each that teacher’s favorite - When students feel like they’re special, they are more likely to behave, do work, and enjoy learning - If some students do not feel a sense of worthiness in the classroom, then it becomes a breeding ground for resentment - Anonymous Public praise—helps to teach the students what’s important to her and what she expects from them - Anonymous Public Fussing– doesn’t work, treats all students as though they are behaving inappropriately, even the ones who are behaving - “ All students want and deserve to feel just as valued as every other student in the classroom.” Part 2 How to Make Every Student Feel Like Your Favorite Student

  4. - One of the best ways to motivate and inspire students is to show personal interest in them - some children feel valued and important by their families everyday, others don’t—an effective teacher can make all students feel valued regardless of home situations - most effective teachers actually know something about each student’s hobbies, personal interests, and dreams - use what you know about the student’s background to understand the student - “One of the best ways to motivate and inspire students is to show personal interest in them.” Part 3 How to Show Personal Interest In Every Student

You are more likely to stick with your diet if someone were to say to you “You look great!” VS Its about time..” • You should praise children throughout their work, not just after. This motivates them to do well throughout the entire activity

Part 5 Summary- How to use rewards Appropriately • Rewarding children students with not only tangible things like stickers or candy, etc… but also intangible things such a praise or recognition for great work • Rewarding students motivates them to do well, it shows them your paying attention to their work that they are proud of
