  3. Site Ranking • Explanation: My team at The Marketing Arm was beyond warm and welcoming. They allowed me to sit in on weekly meeting, attend client presentations and truly gave me all the guidance I needed to succeed. I felt completely apart of the team and like a major contributor. Through The Marketing Arm’s internship program called Gateway to Greatness we were provided with multiple learning opportunities. There were five ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions that discussed networking, social media, emotional intelligence, a How to Guide from a previous intern and a Q&A session with TMA’s top executives. 10

  5. Words of Wisdom • YES, YES, YES! Become a yes person. Whatever someone needs find a way to accommodate them.. even if you’re busy. • Never be afraid to ask questions. • Be open to learning new things. Ask members of your team if you can sit in on a conference call or attend a meeting to learn more about what they do and how it impacts the team. • Always go above and beyond. If you are not busy ask someone on your team if there is something you can help them complete. • Be cordial. Speak to everyone you see. By doing this you will stand out and people will begin to ask about you. • Take the initiative. Be proactive. Ultimately, your success depends on you. 12

Internship Objectives • To obtain a perspective of a work environment while gaining as much knowledge about the different capabilities of the agency and a sport marketing career. • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and help generate new ideas for specific projects and events. • Network with others in the agency by interviewing two employees outside of my team. • Understand client relationships and how processes work with client requests on changes and additions. • Understand the process of events by working on approvals, activation plans and the events team to get a better idea of the implementation. 13

Daily Activities • Provide weekly information on what our competitors are doing surrounding the Olympic Games • Participation in brainstorm sessions • Prepare for client presentations and report compilation • Maintain a help desk email for client’s internal site • Assist the team in daily activities and event activations 14

  8. Project Description • New Client Presentation • Two Hilton Olympic interns, an AT&T intern and I will work together on a client presentation. Our supervisors have suggested we pitch Under Armour as a new client to The Marketing Arm. We as interns will inform TMA top executives as to why we think Under Armour would be a good client for them. We are to put together a presentation to Human Resources, our supervisors and fellow interns. We are to keep in mind what The Marketing Arm can offer the specific client, how we would sell TMA as a next generation promotional agency and how TMA’s past capabilities can help Under Armour excel in the future. 15
