Bob Hunter: Pioneer Environmentalist and Greenpeace Founder

Bob Hunter (1941-2005) was a notable Canadian environmentalist, journalist, and politician. As the first president of Greenpeace, he led significant efforts to ban commercial whaling and advocate for environmental protection. His career began in the 1960s with the Winnipeg Tribune and Vancouver Sun. In 2001, he ventured into politics with the Ontario Liberal Party. Hunter authored several books on environmental issues, earning the Governor General's Award for his work titled "Occupied Canada."
