Golden Guardian • Golden Guardian 10 Summary • The sixth Full-Scale Exercise (FSE) in the Governor’s Golden Guardian Exercise Series since 2004 • 2010 theme is terrorist attack • Aligned with the National Exercise Program • Will take place over multiple days in May 2010 • Developed in a collaborative process in order to meet participants’ needs • Assess selected State Emergency Functions/Target Capabilities • Assess regional capabilities developed in a collaborative planning process within the framework of statewide exercise goals.
Approved Statewide Goals • Assess Federal, State, Regional, and Local information sharing capabilities through a Preventative Exercise • Evaluate State, Regional, and Local response to effects of terrorist attack in a neighboring State and to a terrorist attack in a major California Port • Exercise EMAC and direct communications with a neighboring state • Re-assess coordination of response in a port • Examine recovery aspects of local terrorist catastrophic incidents • Support regional response to a catastrophic terrorist incident in a neighboring state • Assess state-to-state SOC issue resolution, coordination, and resource support to a neighboring state.
