HbA1c Test

An HbA1c test measures the average amount of sugar (glucose) attached to hemoglobin in red blood cells over the past 2u20133 months. It is the primary tool used to diagnose prediabetes (5.7u20136.4%) and diabetes (6.5% or higher), and to monitor long-term blood sugar control. No fasting is required.
