Many believe that you need a real estate agent to buy property. This is similar to a stockbroker, who can help you sell and buy shares. False. It is not required in Australia that property must be sold by an agent. Some buyers believe that buying property through a real agent will speed up the process and make it easier. This is false. Many buyers believe that buying direct from the seller is faster and more stress-free than buying through an agent.

Proprietorship is better for their property A home's owner is more likely than not to be well-versed in all aspects of the property. It is more likely for the owner to know where the closest shops and schools are. Real estate agents, on the other hand are less knowledgeable about the properties they sell.  A typical agent might have several properties in their portfolio, with only the most basic information about each. Some agents don’t even know the basics! One agent I spoke with didn't know whether secure parking was included on the title. Imagine the owner forgetting to park their vehicle in the evening.

Agents in realty offer no guarantee Buyers are protected by agents using their services, they will tell you. Any dispute can be brought before a real estate tribunal. False. False claims about properties made by agents will usually be defended if they act in good faith, and follow their owners' instructions.  Many of the complaints that they receive are dismissed by these real estate tribunal members, who are often chosen by industry. If bank robbers were allowed to select the jury, it is difficult to imagine how many convictions would result in armed robbery.

Sellers selling their property by the owner have the option of negotiating Buyers choose to buy properties from an owner or private sale in Australia because they know the owner is more flexible about the price and can still reap the benefits. The owner can save on commissions, sometimes as high as 3%, and sell the property for a lower price without having to use an agent. Buyers should not assume that the owner will sell their property for less than the full commission earned. Although selling your home is not as difficult as you might imagine, there are still costs such as time and money. It is reasonable to assume that the owner will retain some of the commission saved as a reward for their hard work.
