Egyptian Pharaohs • Pharaohs were the rulers of the Egyptian monarchy, which lasted from about 3000 B.C.E-30 B.C.E. • Pharaohs were the political and religious leaders of Egypt • The pharaohs collected taxes, made laws, doled out punishments, built temples, defended Egypt against invaders, and attempted to maintain a divine order called “Ma-at”
