Witnesses report seeing the two men enter the dark recesses of the catacombs beneath the city, where Montresor is accused of premeditated murder. Law enforcement is investigating the motive behind this shocking homicide, believed to involve an intoxicated state and a heated argument over a rare cask of Amontillado. The community reels from the chilling affair.

  3. PSST! Here is a hint….. • When writing the newspaper article, it should be written in paragraph form. • Like all news pieces, answer the who, whatwhen, where, why and how of the event. Also, draw the reader into the article immediately. • The who?, what?, when?, where?, why? and how? are the concrete details or textual evidence of the piece. Return to the text for facts and quotes to answer these questions.
