  2. Schedule Required Deadlines: -Initial Draft for preliminary review is due August 23, 2013 -Final Submission is due September 13, 2013 NCAR Diversity RFP

  3. Overview • Proposals will be reviewed by a review panel convened by the NCAR Diversity Committee. • The review panel will provide proposal review and ranking recommendations to the NCAR Executive Committee. • The NCAR Executive Committee will make the final award decisions. NCAR Diversity RFP

  4. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Up to 24 months beginning in FY14. MAXIMUM REQUEST PER PROPOSAL: $40,000 (total for entire period of performance) CO-SPONSORSHIP: Preferred and evaluated in the review process. Regular staff salary may not be counted toward co-sponsorship. FUNDING LIMITS PER PROJECT: Typically, no more than 2 rounds of funding. NO-COST EXTENSIONS: subject to approval. Up to six-month extension may be requested. NCAR Diversity RFP

  5. NCAR PI REQUIREMENT: Participation from UCP and UCAR is encouraged. All funding remains in NCAR. • GRA AND POSTDOC PIs: GRAs and PostDocs are eligible to be PI if POP is within employment term. NCAR staff member must serve as the Co-PI. • ALLOWABLE SALARY EXPENSES: The portion of an individual’s salary charged for work that directly supports a diversity effort/function. • COLLABORATION BETWEEN LAB OR WITH EXTERNAL PARTNERS: Encouraged but not required. Next steps : Submit your Initial Draft • Complete a first draft of the RFP template in a word doc. format and submit your Initial Draft to Cindy Worster/NCAR DIR (cmw@ucar.edu) by August 23, 2013. • No signatures or budget information required in the Initial Draft. • Helen Moshak and Bob Roesch will review the initial proposals to ensure they are in line with Diversity Guidelines and provide feedback to the PIs.   7. Next steps : Submit your Final Submission • Complete and submit your final submission in a .pdf format and email it to Cindy Worster/NCAR DIR (cmw@ucar.edu) by September 13, 2013 • Signatures, budget information and the budget information and the budget worksheet are required in the final submission.   8. Post Award Reporting • Required at the end of the performance period: • A narrative final report (2 page minimum) • A financial report • 2-3 photos of activities or outcomes and photo releases • All reports will be posted to the NCAR Diversity Committee URL. NCAR Diversity RFP

  9. Other Sources of Diversity Funding • Each Lab has a Diversity Fund with matching funds from the Director. • Check with your lead administrator on your lab’s process for applying for and reporting on these funds. NCAR Diversity RFP
