  6. Thesaurus in Japanese • The INIS Thesaurus has been extended in Japanese in October 2013 • Improved convenience for Japanese users Japanese Descriptor

  7. Usage of INIS Collection Search (ICS) in Japan

  8. In-house INIS database • Some issues in ICS • Sometimes connection is slow or not available • Not useful for bibliometric study because of limit of downloadable records and it is not easy for users to click on the checkbox to export many records • Accurate number of search result is not available • Search by primary subject category, country of input, etc is not available • Search request number is not available in query • ICS always searches full text as well as bibliographic information, it is convenient but it sometimes searches irrelevant information → Develop In-house INIS database for complimentary system to ICS

  9. Archive information of TEPCO FukushimaDaiichi NPS Accident • Start to provide reference information about Fukushima Daiichi NPS accident in April, 2011“Special website on Fukushima Accident reference information” • Increase contents such as JAEA’s R&D results, Useful bibliographies, Reports of investigation committee, etc

  10. Special website on Fukushima Accident reference information List of the R&D results related toFukushima Accidentby JAEA staffs (JAEA Reports 50, journal articles 258, oral presentations 857) JAEA Library Website http://jolisfukyu.tokai-sc.jaea.go.jp/ird/english/index.html Bibliographies related to the TMI-2, Chernobylsk-4 reactor accidents, environmental decontamination, etc(19 theme, 18,235 articles) Report of Investigation Committee, National Diet, Japanese government, TEPCO, NRC, ANS, IAEA, etc Information on the Internet, oral presentation information (48,239 items)

  12. Fukushima Nuclear Accident Archive - Outline - National Diet Library’s Web Archiving Project (WARP) Internet Information Government Local Government Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) Organization Univ. Photos, etc Reports Internet Monitoring data Select, Collect and prepare metadata and assign IAEA taxonomy Oral presentation information Link to WARP IAEA taxonomy ・Atomic Energy Society of Japan ・Japan Health Physics Society ・Japan Radioisotope Association ・The Society for Remediation of Radioactive Contamination in Environment Metadata (Title, Creator, Publication Date, Taxonomy, etc) ・Internet Information (48,000) ・Oral presentation information (1,300)

  13. Ensure access to the Internet Information in cooperation with NDL • Cooperate with the Web Archiving Project (WARP) by NDL to ensure permanent access to Internet information • WARP is the National Diet Library’s Web Archiving Project to archive Japanese official institutions’ websites: the government, the diet, the courts, local governments, independent administrative organizationsetc. http://warp.ndl.go.jp/

  14. Apply IAEA Taxonomy for classification • IAEA developed taxonomy for major nuclear accidents • Assign IAEA taxonomy to organize the collected information systematically • IAEA taxonomy is working version and we will revise it to appropriately classify the information and give feedback to the IAEA IAEA Taxonomy

  15. Metadata: Web information (p.1) (p.2) (p.4)

  16. Metadata: Oral presentation • Cutting-edge and valuable information but not always organized and preserved • Created about1,300 metadata of oral presentations at the 5 meetings, ex. annual meeting of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan • Use of metadata of web information (Dublin Core Metadata Element Set)
