Essential Efforts in Utilizing Diverse Human Resources ―Realizing Work/Life Balance ― Work/Life Balance Equal Opportunity Do work-life balance and equal opportunity employment Produce positive effects on human resources management. What work/life balance is? A way of working that enables an enhanced balance of work and other aspects of life, including family life (child-rearing, nursing care, etc.), lifelong learning, hobbies and social contribution activities.

  18. Shiseido’s “Virtuous Circle” of Work/Life Balance Issues relevant to all employees regardless of gender, age, marital status or parental status. Measures to realize this include reduced working hours and flexible administration regarding time, responsive to individual needs. Improvement to individual productivity is also required.   21. Effect of Shiseido Female Researcher Science Grant Women who can play leading roles will naturally increase if talented female researchers are allowed to demonstrate their abilities. Future: Hope to be the basis for a network among female researchers In order for talented female researchers to fully exhibit their abilities . . . A woman facing a barrier to continuing her research can use the grant as a stepping stone over that barrier, and thus successfully demonstrate her ability Barrier Barrier Financial assistance (stepping stone)
