  2. Introduction • The organization which today is known as ISO began in 1926 as the International Federation of the National Standardizing Associations (ISA). This organization focused heavily on mechanical engineering. It was disbanded in 1942 during the second World War but was re-organized under the current name, ISO, in 1946. • ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world's largest developer of voluntary International Standards. • International Standards make things work. They give world-class specifications for products, services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency. They are instrumental in facilitating international trade. • ISO has published more than 19,500 International Standards covering almost every industry, from technology, to food safety, to agriculture and healthcare. ISO Certification Fees • ISO Certification Fees 9001 Registration will vary depending on the size and complexity of your organization and on whether you already have some elements of a quality management system in place. • First, there are typically three options for an organization seeking registration: • Create everything (Documentation, training, etc.) on your own by reading and interpreting the standard. • You know your business better than anyone, and you are in the best position to document your processes. But do you have the time to create hundreds of pages of documentation plus training? • Use documentation templates and training programs to train your organization. - For a very small investment, you can train your people and create a solid quality management system or QMS very efficiently — saving you weeks and weeks of time and frustration.
