  4. Framing The Session • Video-on-demand can be a powerful tool in teacher professional development. • We will view one Web site that effectively provides teacher support for mathematics content as well as effective teaching techniques.

  5. Teaching • Annenberg Media uses media and telecommunications to advance excellent teaching • Log on to www.learner.org

  6. Click on “Mathematics.” • On the next screen, select the Discipline of Mathematics, and a grade level of 6 - 8 • Click on “Go.”

  7. Teaching • From the list provided, select: Learning Math: Geometry • Explore this site.

  8. Guided Practice • Let us all now look at Video 7. Symmetry • Video description: • Investigates symmetry. • Explores geometric notions of symmetry by creating designs and examining their properties. • Investigates line symmetry and rotation symmetry.
