Career focus and Goals • Hope to eventually receive a doctorate in computer engineering. • Aid in helping humanity. • Receive a well paying job with great benefits.
Present Status • Currently build K-nex robots. • I am entering into either Drexel’s Villanova’s, or Penn State’s College of Engineering next year to receive my Bachelor’s Degree.
Robotics • I hope to utilize my degrees to specifically enter the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. • Robotics is the science or study of the technology associated with the design, fabrication, theory, and application of robots.
Required Course of Study • Complete 5 year co-op at Drexel University. • Complete the basic engineering syllabus for freshmen. • Basic courses include physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.
Course of Study (cont.) • One or Two years in Master’s study in electrical or mechanical engineering. • Also, a doctorate opens up jobs in design and research.
Statistics • # of people in profession: 35,000 • Average hours per week: 50 • Average starting salary: $30,000 • Average salary after 5 years: $45,000 • Average salary after 10 to 15 years: $100,000

Recent Accomplishments in Robotics • Robots are used for entertainment, education, personal, and social welfare. • Prototypes serve food in prisons. • Some robots are being developed that detect hazardous items such as bombs.
