  4. § 1. Generally • Typewriting no longer permitted • Privilege, not a right • Subject to faculty approval • Conditioned on compliance with requirements and expectations • Your own computer, compatibility with which is not guaranteed, and a USB flash drive • May have to use bluebooks • New version at least once per semester

  5. § 2. Practice Test Requirement • Download and install new version(s) at least once every semester • Complete and submit practice test(s) for each new versionby applicable deadline(s) • Practice test Exam Number: ULink User Name (NEVER Student ID number) • Must submit from on campus • Problems? Notify IT BEFORE deadline(s)

  6. § 3. Exemptions & Extensions • Granted only by Dean Cross • Must be for cause • Must be requested on or before applicable deadline(s)

  7. § 4. Penalties • No practice test? • No use of computer for exams that semester • No technical assistance related to exams • No USB drive? • No technical assistance submitting exam • Circumvention • Name reported to Dean Cross

  9. Exam Days: Before Exams • IT available at least one hour prior, during and for a reasonable time following all exams • Bring: • Your computer • Power supply AND fully charged batteries • USB flash drive • Bluebooks • Pens

  10. Exam Days: Before Exams • Report to exam room • Set up, boot up and log in to ulsecure • Insert flash drive into USB port • Start up Exam4 using one’s EXAM NUMBER in the EXAM ID field • Stop at • Click Begin Exam when instructed to begin

  11. If you have a problem … Bring laptop and power supply immediately and directly to IT. Describe problem in as much detail as possible. IT staff will complete an Incident Report. You will take the Incident Report to the Dean on Duty. He/she will give you lost time at his/her discretion. DoD will sign bottom portion. You must sign bottom portion. You will receive a copy to take with you.

  12. Exam Days: Following Exams • Confirmation: • Exam4 generates confirmation/receipt. • ExamTracker4000: www.law.louisville.edu/it/exam-tracker • Network submission failure? • Save to USB drive • Bring USB drive to IT • No USB drive?

  13. Exam Days: Following Exams • Exam4 files are encryptedand cannot be corrected or modified after ending session. • Identify yourself correctly. • Provide pledge if so instructed. • Do not disclose mistakes to professor.

  17. Taking a Practice Test:2> Exam ID; Course Type your ULink user name twice.Note: Practice tests are the ONLY time you will identify yourself using your ULink user name. For real exams you will use your assigned Exam Number. NEVER use your UofL Student ID number. Choose Practice exam from the Course list twice.

  18. Taking a Practice Test:Re-confirm Information Ensure you have correctly entered your ULink user name and chosen Practice exam. Check box to re-confirm. Click OK (or Go back to make changes).

  19. Taking a Practice Test:3> Exam time; Font size All of the settings on this page are optional and are provided for your convenience only. Included are: Countdown timer to set exam duration. Alerts Font size (does not affect printing) Screen/text colors

  20. Taking a Practice Test:4> Notice of instructions Honor Code; Extegrity License Agreement Security Check Violation Help Standard Crash Recovery Procedure Got it? Check here.

  21. Taking a Practice Test:5> Exam Mode Your only option is CLOSED mode. Type CLOSED. Check box to confirm Exam Mode is CLOSED.
