Workplace Learning How to use the ESHS database?
General Tips • Location - S:\AdminShared\E4018S01-Esperance SHS\Teaching Staff\VET\WPL • Then look in the appropriate year folder • Make a shortcut or go to the file. DO NOT MAKE A COPY AND PUT IN YOUR USER AREA!
Making a Shortcut • Go to file location - S:\AdminShared\E4018S01-Esperance SHS\Teaching Staff\VET\WPL\2013\ • Right click on the file – Send to – Desktop (create shortcut)
Welcome Page 1 Students button Edit Student Table – getting to the original table – for expert users only Queries – assorted useful lists Reports – hours report will show a total of hours, as well as a calculation of WACE points 3 2 4
Students Form 1 2 3 4 Student general information Ticks – record which forms etc. are finalised Workplace details – select Workplace then details automatically fill in Comments Hours – add hours for each week of each term. Clicking on the Hours Report will give you the progressive total for the year, as well as a calculation of WACE points Notes – general 5 6
Adding/Editing Employers • You need to click on the Employers button on the Welcome Form • You cannot add or edit on the Student form • The list of employers needs to be accurate: • Update with new information • Add new employers • Look at the current list, there shouldn’t be multiple copies of the same business (i.e. with slight spelling/name differences) • Fill in all the appropriate details – important for mailouts • Check , double check and triple check your spelling! • The same applies for other information: • Suburbs • WPL Supervisors
