  2. : life in an adaptive zone : Economists have already borrowed the concept of 'adaptive zones' from evolutionary biology. Joseph Schumpeter, in particular, drew parallels with the biologists' recognition of 'adaptive zones' in his economic models. He observed that times of economic boom occur when swarms of entrepreneurs try to implement an innovation at the same time. However, those who enter this new space and pursue the new opportunities discover that their business models, formed and nurtured former practices and processes, are ill-adapted to cope with the new. Those who survive, and go on to flourish in the 'adaptive zone' are those who can also transform their structures and systems to accommodate the new opportunities. David Lyon …if we resist short-term strategies and pre-packaged answers, if we learn to be cross-cultural missionaries in our own society, and if we can negotiate the next forty years - whatever culture emerges from the ruins of Christendom might offer tremendous opportunities for telling and living out the Christian story… Christendom is dying but a new and dynamic Christianity could arise from its ashes.   7. : safe space : : safe space is a new spiritual journey in telford : an attempt to walk with just a few of the many people in our world who consider themselves to be "spiritual but not religious" : we dream of growing communities of people who seek to explore the place of spirituality in their own lives and in each other and who long for an encounter with the maker and creator god : we dream of being a home for those who cannot find a space in the traditional structures and culture of the church but nevertheless have hopes and fears beyond the day to day practicalities of life : we seek to meet, know and walk with people for whom christianity may be an alien concept but for whom there waits a place within the heart of god : we dream of healing, caring, loving, reaching : we believe that god is closer than many think and may be at this very moment rushing to embrace us in our weakness and inadequacy : we believe that god stepped into our world because we had consistently failed to enter gods : we believe that jesus came to restore the possibility of relationship with god by forgiving us of our pride, arrogance and selfishness : we believe that god made us creative, just and loving : we believe that god is love : we love because god loves : we dream of creating safe spaces to be met by god, to be embraced, held and loved by god : : we dream :

Since we've been put through that battery of tests, you're guaranteed that both we and the Message are free of error, mixed motives, or hidden agendas. We never used words to butter you up. No one knows that better than you. And God knows we never used words as a smoke screen to take advantage of you. Even though we had some standing as Christ's apostles, we never threw our weight around or tried to come across as important, with you or anyone else. We weren't aloof with you. We took you just as you were. We were never patronizing, never condescending, but we cared for you the way a mother cares for her children. We loved you dearly. I'm here to introduce you to this God so you can worship intelligently, know who you're dealing with. The God who made the world and everything in it, this Master of sky and land, doesn't live in custom-made shrines or temples or need the human race to run errands for him, as if he couldn't take care of himself. He makes the creatures; the creatures don't make him. Starting from scratch, he made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn't play hide-and-seek with us. He's not remote; he's near. We live and move in him, can't get away from him! One of your own poets said it well: "We are the God-created.'
