We Received a Vital Worship Grant!. Our Purpose Statement.
E N D
Our Purpose Statement Because we see our congregation hungry to be led more deeply into spiritual practices and “hands- on” worship, we hope to implement a project that explores the history, theology and practice of multi-sensory worship, in order to promote active participation and co-creative responses to the preaching of the gospel. This plan will be acted out through the facilitation of a number of “worship labs” throughout the year that employ interactive elements and worship stations.
Desired Outcomes • Added vibrancy to worship services. • Develop latent creativity within the congregation. • Help to formalize a creative arts team within the church. • Provide creative leadership to other churches in our city, denomination and network. • Strengthen relationships through worshipping together. • Deepen our love for God and expand our ability to express our love in a multitude of forms.
Grant Program Schedule Summer 2014 • Prepare for the worship theology seminar and hold an informational meeting. • Invite the congregation to join the creative worship team responsible for producing worship labs. • Develop a worship survey gauging the congregation’s impression of interactive worship. • Attend the first Vital Worship Grant Colloquium at Calvin College. • Build and launch the FBC “interactive worship” blog. Fall 2014 • Plan and produce the first worship lab, as well as ask for feedback from attendees. • Present initial findings to the church leadership team.
