  3. EDUSAT EXPECTED FUNCTIONS • Video Conferencing • Radio Broadcast • TV Broadcast • Night downloading at Receiving end • Online Education through Internet • Telephone,Internet,Webcam as return feedback • Voice chat on internet

  4. ISRO and USER Agencies • ISRO to provide connectivity to school,colleges ,higher levels of education • ISRO to demonstrate efficacy of the Satellite System • USER agencies to develop content and effectively use the system • Quality ad Quantity of the content determine the success of Edusat System

  5. EDUSAT IS READY BUT INDIA IS NOT READY

  6. EDUSAT Net Work • 60 Net work Stations with Regional hubs • In few States more than two net works • TV as medium in Elementary Education • Computer as a medium with projection facilities in other sectors • 3300 SITs (Satellite Interactive Terminals) • 30,000 ROTs (Receive only Terminals)

  9. UTILISATION Of NETWORK • Training of Teachers and Teacher Educators • Orientation of Community members • Broadcast for students • Content Based Programmes for students • Monitoring of various schemes and Progs • About 6 to 8 hrs per day utilisation

  12. Issues to be addressed • Technical issues : Installation of Hardware and Maintenance (AMC) • Quality and Quantity of content • Revision of content and training of teachers • Monitoring,Research and Evaluation • Planning for Optimal Utilisation of network • Networking with user agencies

  13. Areas of Concern in PPPs • Attitude and mutual trust • Commitment to the tasks • Flow of funds
