Origin of Acupuncture • The earliest written record of acupuncture is the Chinese text Shiji in the 2nd century BCE. • By the year 1000 acupuncture spread from China to Japan, Korea, Vietnam and other places in East Asia. • Acupuncture gained attention in the United States after Richard Nixon visited China in 1972.
