BACKGROUND • Cabinet Unveiled 12 Implementation Plans for Immediate Action • Action Plan 6 (Scaling up Rural Development Programmes • DRDLR and Presidency for Overseeing the Programme • 24 Resource Poor DMs (18 million people) • High levels of Poverty; Service Constraints; high levels of Unemployment; Low levels of Economic Development

  5. CURRENT PROCESSES • Provincial Workshops in all 9 provinces • Cogta has Adopted the Guidelines • Cogta and SALGA will monitor the Implementation

  6. WAYFORWARD • Guidelines Implementation Championed by HOD • RTR Guidelines workshopped at LG level • Institutionalisation of the RTR
