Outcomes of the IMLS Digital Library Forum • Framework of Guidance for Building Good Digital Collectionshttp://www.imls.gov/pubs/forumframework.htm • Stresses reusability, persistence, interoperability, verification, and documentation of digital collections • Agreement with NISO to maintain Framework as an information standard (Nov. 2003) • DL Forum report, including recommendations encouraging: • Creation of an IMLS Collection Registry • Implementation of the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting by IMLS projects • Development of infrastructure to facilitate interoperability between IMLS projects and initiatives like NSDL t-cole3@uiuc.eduUniversity of Illinois at UC
