The New FELE-Administration First CBT Administration-August 1, 2009 Fees are currently $215 first attempt, $225 for retakes

FELE Written Performance Assessment (WPA) • Holistically scored • Raters are experienced principals/APs • School based instructional data • Scored using a rubric and data trends table • Discrepant scores are resolved by a Chief Rater
Holistic Rating Process and Results 1) Rangefinding with Chief Raters prior to scoring session 2) Training and evaluation of raters (qualification) 3) Scoring of WPA responses 4) In-progress monitoring of raters (remediation if needed) 5) Post-scoring evaluation of all raters 6) Challenge Process-Florida Principals
FELE Subtest 3 – Current Development • School grading policies changed significantly in 2009-10, particularly for High Schools • Written Performance Assessment in Subtest 3 being updated first as it deals specifically with ‘school grading’ data interpretation. • New writing topics using most current school grading data drafted by Subject Matter Experts in Oct 2010. • Examinees must know and understand the school grading and accountability system. • Next Step - Pilot Testing New Writing Topics • Ed Leadership Program students asked to provide responses to these new writing topics as if they were actually taking the test. • Responses used to evaluate difficulty of writing topics and to create exemplars for rater training.
The Future of FELE-Targeted Updates 2010-2011 • M/C test items and forms will be addressed (data driven items) • Written Performance Assessment (WPA) Updates • “Possible” standard setting for one or more subtests Target Dates-2011-2012
