  2. Overall Concept • It’s a meeting of Peers • Meant for HABITAT partners from all over the world and at all levels of development • Outcomes meant to generate feedback to HABITAT goals and work • Outcome meant to strengthen HABITAT normative agenda

Concept/OBJECTIVES • Feedback recommendations for the UN-HABITAT Governing Council; • Guide practical and follow- up actions for all partners ; • Specific recommendations to UN-HABITAT for research to strengthen policy goals; • Point to and give specific recommendations to bilateral donors and partners for technical cooperation at the country level;

GUILDING PRINCIPLES OF THE ROUNDTABLES • RTs are action- oriented events designed for partners to exchange views on key urban issues • Less formal and more interactive • Some roundtables are closed door events. • Theme of the roundtables revolves around the main theme of the world urban forum (WUF) each other year. • The theme for WUF IV is “Harmonious Urbanization”

  7. FORMAT Participants size vary Most sessions last between three(3) to four(4) hours Each member of the panel is given a maximum of 20minutes Question and answer session at the end.

  8. BUDGET • The host country provides almost 95% of the resources required. • Normally provide the resources to facilitate the participation of UN-HABITAT and its Agenda Partners, and that of participants from Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
