  2. How we visualized our Data. • A conventional bar graph is used to show the retrieved data clearly ; • A classic outline of a murdered body with different murder weapons inside to represent the number and percentage of murder victims; • Comparing statistics between the different types of murder weapons used we noted that the most common by far was the firearm.

  3. What are we Visualizing and Why? • A clear connection between the use of the different weapons; • We chose to make this information visible in order to highlight the difference between murder weapons used when firearms are legalized. • Comparing statistics between the different types of murder weapons used we noted that the most common by far was the firearm; • The question we put forth through the visualization of this data is whether or not America should continue to have firearms legalized.

  4. Where we retrieved our Data? • From the Internet, through a website called www.infoplace.com; • Statistics from the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the American data.

  5. Raw Results of Research These are the results we discovered from Infoplease database for 2008: • 75.20% of all murders in America are by firearm. • 13.26% of all murders in America are by knife or sharp object. • 6.63% of all murders in America are by strangulation • 4.29% of all murders in America are by blunt objects such as hammers • 0.62% of all murders in America are by arson.
