Project #3 Telescoping UAV Wing Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control – Orlando, FL Coach: Loc Vu-Quoc, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Key Objectives • Design and simulate a telescoping wing design for UAV and small missiles. • Identify lightweight materials of construction, i.e. graphite composite, carbon nanotubes, etc. • Construct prototype design, stereo-lithography is possible alternative. Disciplines (desired skills) 2 ME, 1 AE, 1 MSE or CHE, 1 EE 1 ISE Description: Design and develop a prototype telescoping wing for a UAV or small missile. The winglet will extend the length of the wing, increasing surface area. Minimize weight, optimize for actuators, power, etc.
