Ivy Tech: Redesigning Remediation CHALLENGE: • More than two-thirds of Indiana’s community college students require remediation • Fewer than 25% of students placed in remedial courses ever earn a degree OPPORTUNITY: • Clearer identification of students’ remediation needs • Tiered intervention model: • Co-Requisite Component • Modular/Emporium Component
IU: Streamlining Student Support Structures CHALLENGE: • Less than a third of Indiana’s public college students graduate within four years (29.5%) • Less than 10 percent of full-time students graduate on-time on many Indiana campuses OPPORTUNITY: • “Smart Choices” on-time degree maps and advising • Block scheduling and cohort-based enrollment
